This supplement does use a number of Nootropic ingredients which should increase oxygen levels within the brain and trigger the release of powerful brain chemicals and neurotransmitters.
These neurochemicals are largely responsible for many cognitive functions and also may help to stimulate nerve growth for better brain development. Using a supplement that can optimize your levels of neurotransmitters is certainly one way to improve mental function and intellect.
However, you will not find any Racetams or more powerful cognitive enhancers in this product. For this reason, Alpha Brain is often used as a component of nootropic stacks with other brain boosters like Piracetam, Aniraceta, Adrafinil, Noopept or Sunifiram.
Alpha Brain promises that users will see razor-sharp focus, increased mental drive, and possibly even lucid dreams. They are indicating that the loss of concentration and mental powers due to normal aging can indeed be reversed.
Additionally, the supplement does not include any caffeine or artificial stimulants, which should be good news to many who are trying to avoid such items. Alpha Brain Ingredients List
There are a number of ingredients included within the Alpha Brain formulation that bear a closer look. They also do not fall into the trap of being only for show, as happens to many similar products that only use small amounts.
This supplement offers all of their ingredients in meaningful amounts, enough to be generally effective. The manufacturer Onnit Labs recommends taking a dose of between one and three capsules a day.
Alpha GPC: This is actually a very good source of choline. Although choline is found within the body, most people are actually deficient in this important substance.
Since it is also a precursor for Acetylcholine, one of the most powerful and important brain chemicals involved in cognitive function this can lead to a number of incredible benefits.
To be completely honest, this would work much better if the manufacturer Onnit Labs had also included one of the more well-known and effective Racetams, but it still is effective and works well with several of the other ingredients in Alpha Brain.
Huperzine A: This substance from Huperzia is important because it helps to prevent the breakdown of Acetylcholine in the brain. In other words, the Alpha GPC helps increase the level, and then Huperzine A works to maintain this elevated level.
Additionally, Huperzine by itself has been shown to be effective at improving learning, memory, and also increasing levels of nerve growth factor in the brain. This helps to support long-term mental health. This is one of the best ingredients included.
Vinpocetine: This is another ingredient that should definitely be effective. Made from the periwinkle plant, this is a natural Nootropic substance that has been shown to help improve memory, blood-flow to the brain, and also act as a neuroprotectant. Vinpocetine on its own is known to increase alertness and mental energy levels, helping to clear away brain fog.
Bacopa: Bacopa is an effective herb that is thought to have a number of Nootropic benefits. These include improved memory, motor learning, and also reducing anxiety. If you suffer from stress and have a hectic schedule this ingredient in Alpha Brain will likely be able to help.
Pterostilbene: The inclusion of this ingredient shows that the manufacturer really is committed to making the formulation effective. This is not really considered a Nootropic or even a cognitive enhancer, but it is a powerful anti-oxidant that can help to improve long term mental health. A great addition for those interested in longevity supplements.
L-Tyrosine: This is an amino acid which is also a precursor to the powerful chemical L-dopa. It boosts memory, problem solving skills, mental energy, focus, and concentration.
Theanine: An amino acid found most commonly in green tea, Theanine has a number of benefits as well. It acts as a stress reliever and enhances memory. Many people have also reported nice effects by stacking this with caffeine, so that might be something to consider. There is a lot of this ingredient included, so you might notice a mildly stimulating effect.
AC-11: This is another interesting inclusion in the Alpha Brain bill of ingredients. Although it is an herb, it has been proven to help the body repair damage done to DNA. This could mean overall health benefits, and possibly greater physical exertion and performance, but quite likely a limited amount of Nootropic effects.
Vitamin B6: This is simply added support for the creation and maintenance of a number of essential neurotransmitters. Think of it as insurance in case you do not get enough of this vitamin in your diet.
Phosphatidylserine: Difficult to say how effective this ingredient actually is, but it does make up a large portion of brain cell membranes. There are reports of this ingredient helping to mitigate stress, improve mental function, and athletic performance.
Alpha Brain Review
While it certainly looks as if this is an incredibly powerful formulation, the downside may be the cost. At $35 a bottle, a single month’s supply will be between $70 and $105.
On the other hand, you probably will not need to take much else aside from caffeine and possibly a Racetam or two of your choosing. If you can afford the investment, this would certainly be a nice Nootropic stack to add to a regimen with more powerful supplements.

It seems the low dosage in Alpha Brain is simply a offering to say that Pterostilbene is included in the formulation rather than a recommended dosage which actually does something. Don’t think its doing anything at the levels in the Alpha brain formulation…
