Curamin is a dietary supplement marketed for pain alleviation, sold by Terry Naturally Vitamins.
It is the namesake of a line of products including Curamin Extra Strength, Curamin Headache, Curamin Low Back Pain, Curamin Atheltic Pain and Curamin PM.
The primary ingredient in these supplements is a special formulation of curcumin called BCM-95. Curcumin is the main active chemical in turmeric, and demonstrates a variety of health-enhancing properties. [1]
Besides BCM-95 curcumin, Curamin contains a uniquely formulated extract of boswellia serrata called BosPure. Boswellia is a common name for Indian frankincense. [1]
Boswellia contains a compound called AKBA, a potent anti-inflammatory. It also contains DLPA which supports healthy circulation and may enhance product delivery throughout the body. [1]
The beneficial effects of Curamin are claimed to be due to its concentrations of curcminoids including curcumin, demethoxycurcumin and bisdemethoxycurcumin. It also contains boswellic acids including AKBA, DLPA – and a fibrinolytic enzyme called nattokinase. [1]
According to its manufacturer, Curamin contains no corn, yeast, gluten, sugar, wheat, salt – or artificial colorings, flavors or preservatives. It is a non-GMO and vegan-friendly product. [1]

According to NMCD, research in large, randomized and placebo-controlled studies are still needed to determine how well curcumin reduces pain. [3]
Currently, NMCD rates curcumin as Possibly Effective for three conditions: hyperlipidemia, osteoporosis and pruritus. All other uses for curcumin need to be validated in clinical trials. [3]
Boswellia is rated Possibly Effective for osteoarthritis and ulcerative colitis. All other uses require more research to determine efficacy. [3]

Curamin Side Effects
Curamin contains the active ingredients curcumin and boswellia. NMCD states that curcumin is well-tolerated in most people.
When side effects are experienced, they have been limited to gastrointestinal effects like nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. [3]
NMCD states that side effects are no more common with boswellia than with an inert placebo agent. As with curcumin, rare cases of gastrointestinal side effects have been noted. [3]
No serious or permanent side effects are associated with either curcumin or boswellia. [3]
Drug Interactions
Both curcumin and boswellia can interact with certain medications and herbal supplements. Some of the medications types that Curamin might alter the effects and/or side effects of include:
