hello whats the safe number of longvida curcumin capsules you can take a day and does it reach the blood brain barrier if you break open the capsule and pour the curcumin in a drink of food?
My apologies as I don’t know the answer. I see no other avenue in which to ask a question therefore this will appear as a response to the question you asked. I am extremely confused about this product, which is not inexpensive, because it does not contain Black Pepper extract explained as needed in everything you read about Curcumin; copied and pasted the following regarding this:
“It has a poor oral bioavailability (a low percentage of what you consume is absorbed) and thus should be enhanced with other agents such as black pepper extract, called piperine. This is unless you want the curcumin in your colon (as it is a colon anti-inflammatory and can help with digestion), in which case you wouldn’t pair it with an enhancement.”
I can’t believe the vast majority of people taking CURCUMIN, WHICH SPECIFICALLY CROSSES THE BBB, is taking Longvida™ for colon anti-inflammatory benefits. Can anyone please help me with this???
The reason why the curcumin is encapsulated with a special process, is unique. It isn’t even the same as curcumin in the form of phytosomes. They are similiar, but yet different. Yes, you’re right about the low bioavailability of curcumin in general and all the additives help with this, but the ‘Longvida’ process is entirely unique, and it will cross the blood brain barrier, as the other ones won’t. This specific process also has a half-life of 7.5 hrs., as compared to 1.5 hrs, since it uses this process, and allow the curcumin to stay as a free-form. This free-form action causes it to be circulated in blood for much longer because of the free state. Free form means its not metabolized, and ready to be excreted through our urine. This is a big bonus, as well as the Blood brain barrier for those who are at a higher age and might suffer from alzheimers. Neuronal protectant is this type of curcumin. I hope I helped you some more. :)
