Modalert is a generic labeled version of the drug known as Modafinil. It is sold primarily from online pharmacies based out of India and manufactured by Sun Pharmaceuticals in 100 mg and 200 mg tablet sizes.

Modafinil was first developed in France during the late 1970’s as a derivative of Adrafinil. Adrafinil and a number of other benzhydryl sulfinyl compounds were first discovered in 1974. Extensive research on Adrafinil led to it eventually being offered as a treatment for narcolepsy sleep disorder, first in France during the year 1986.
During testing to determine Adrafinil’s mechanism(s) of action, Modafinil was discovered. It was found that Adrafinil is broken down in the body into the active compound Modafinil, and the inactive modafinilic acid.
After more research and development, it was possible to synthesize Modafinil directly. Although the two do have very similar activity, Modafinil is currently much more widely used than its parent drug Adrafinil because it is much more potent and fast-acting.
Like Adrafinil before it, Modafinil was first tested in humans for narcolepsy. Narcolepsy is a sleep and wakefulness disorder that causes excessive daytime sleepiness, potentially poor nighttime sleep, and a difficulty staying awake during the day, with some people randomly falling sleep multiple times a day.
In multiple double-blind placebo-controlled research trials, it has been seen that compared to a placebo, Modafinil is significantly better at improving wakefulness and reducing daytime sleepiness in patients with narcolepsy. Modafinil was approved as a treatment for narcolepsy by the FDA in the United States in 1998.
In a similar vein, Modafinil has been extensively researched for other sleep disorders that have excessive sleepiness issues, specifically shift-work sleep disorder and obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome.
Shift-work sleep disorder is a disorder that can occur when normal circadian rhythms (daily sleep/wake cycles corresponding with day and night) are disrupted due to working late and overnight work shifts. People with this disorder often experience excessive sleepiness when they are awake (typically late at night and overnight), and sometimes experience insomnia when they try to sleep (typically during the daytime).
Because Modafinil is a known wakefulness-promoting drug (a eugeroic agent), studies have been done using it to improve wakefulness in people with shift work sleep disorder. A study found that compared to a placebo, Modafinil taken an hour before a work shift improved performance on the Psychomotor Vigilance Test, in the form of fewer and shorter attention lapses.
Obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is a medical condition that causes the impairment or complete cessation of breathing during sleep. The muscles that keep the tongue and soft palate in place can relax involuntarily, causing a blockage of the airway. Hypopnea refers to a partial airway blockage and shallow, labored breathing, while apnea refers to the cessation of breathing due to a complete airway blockage.
Due to poor sleep quality caused by multiple breathing episodes at night, people with OSAHS often experience excessive daytime sleepiness. Modafinil has been approved as an adjunct treatment for OSAHS to improve this symptom of the condition, used alongside treatment for the condition itself, often a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine used while sleeping.

Off-Label Benefits Of Sun Pharma Modalert
There are a number of benefits reported for this drug. The most commonly used clinical purposes include the treatment of narcolepsy, shift work sleep disorder, and as an adjunct treatment for obstructive sleep apnea.
These are the only technically approved treatments for this drug within the United States which means that drug companies are not allowed to advertise any other uses or benefits. But under FDA policy, physicians are allowed to prescribe drugs for non-approved purposes according to their own discretion.
These doctors may be subject to increased scrutiny from their medical boards, but it is not uncommon for a doctor to issue a prescription for Modafinil to treat conditions like attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
For this reason, there are a wide range of off-label uses for Modalert pills. Many people have begun using Modalert as a nootropic drug for cognitive enhancement. There are a number of user reports stating that it is effective at improving memory, especially short-term and working memory.
Some people also feel that it helps to improve their learning capacity, lengthen attention spans, and increase their ability to focus and concentrate. These anecdotal reports frequently come from individuals who have ADHD and are concerned about using drugs such as Adderall or Ritalin which pose greater risk of side effects.
In addition to anecdotal reports, there have been many double-blind placebo-controlled research studies that back up the results people report having using Modafinil for ADHD. Studies have been done comparing Modafinil to a placebo alone, as well as comparing Modafinil to traditional ADHD medications, and comparing both to a placebo.
One randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled three-phase crossover trial compared Modafinil and the conventional ADHD medication dextroamphetamine (Dexedrine) to each other and to a placebo. The study was broken into three randomized phases, with one two week phase on Modafinil, one two week phase on dextroamphetamine, and one two week phase on placebo. Various tests were administered during each phase including the DSM-IV ADHD Behavior Checklist for Adults, the Controlled Oral Word Association Test (COWAT), the Stroop Effect test, and the Digit Span test.
It was seen that scores on both the DSM-IV ADHD Behavior Checklist and the COWAT were significantly improved during treatment with both the active medications compared to the control placebo treatment phase. The researchers concluded that Modafinil was able to improve symptoms of ADHD as well as the dextroamphetamine, and that it should be considered a viable treatment alternative to traditional amphetamine stimulants for people with ADHD.
Additionally, Modalert is viewed as a powerful productivity-enhancing drug among students and individuals in competitive work fields. Reviews of the research studies done on using Modafinil for cognition have found that there is a trend across studies showing that Modafinil improves memory formation, specifically in relation to working and episodic memory, as well as improving executive function.
Modalert tablets are further noted to have a profound weight loss impact. It is cited as increasing the rate of fat burning even in people who current maintain a healthy weight. A number of studies show that Modalert has an appetite reducing effect, and while this may be a negative side effect for most people, it could be beneficial for people trying to lose weight.
This effect also appears to be greater when using 400 mg per day, as opposed to a ‘normal’ dose of 200 mg per day. This effect is comparable to what is experienced when using traditional stimulants like amphetamines, though Sun Modalert is not considered a traditional stimulant.
Modalert 200 mg has also been found beneficial in the treatment of opiate and cocaine addictions. It has been observed that the clinical effects of Modalert are largely opposite to the symptoms of cocaine withdrawal.
There have been a few studies into this effect, but they were largely inconclusive. It will certainly be interesting to see where further research goes with this.
How Modalert Works
Modalert has a number of mechanisms of action, many of which are still not fully understood. It does seem to be capable of crossing over the blood-brain barrier and entering into the central nervous system.
From here, it has been found to significantly act on the Dopamine transporter, which inhibits the reuptake of this neurotransmitter within the brain. This then leads to an increased level of circulating Dopamine which can promote increased motivation, mental focus and stamina as well as mood enhancement.
Modalert is further known to influence histamine levels in the brain. This monoamine hormone is an important part of the sleep-wake cycle regulatory system that controls daytime alertness.
Sleep is understood as a hormone-induced state; by alerting natural levels of these hormones, Modalert can promote increased wakefulness during the day and stave off fatigue when engaging in extended periods of mental strain.
This drug is also observed to have an effect on norepinephrine, serotonin, and orexin systems within the brain. Other studies have found it to have a highly neuroprotective effect, as well as being a significant anti-oxidant that can boost the health of neural cells.
Buying Modalert Modafinil Online

Modalert Dosage
The generally accepted range of Modalert dosages is between 100 and 400 mg per day. It is sold both as 100 mg and 200 mg pills, though the 200 mg formulation tends to be more popular. Not only a very powerful drug, but it also has a rather long half-life (up to 15 hours according to some reports).
This means that a single dose, taken in the morning, should be enough to last all day. For those interested in splitting their daily amount into smaller administrations, it is recommended not to take anything after about noon. Otherwise, this might lead to difficulty falling and staying asleep at night.
Modalert Side Effects
No discussion of a smart drug would be complete without covering the potential side effects. As with everything else, the higher the dose, the higher potential there is for side effects.
Some of these that have been reported for Modalert include headaches, congestion, diarrhea, stomach issues, back pain, drowsiness, nausea, nervousness, trouble sleeping, and dizziness.
There also some potentially more serious effects that can include allergic reaction, mouth sores, hives, serious rash, peeling or blistering skin, fever, trouble swallowing, swelling of the face/mouth/eyes/lips/legs, and shortness of breath. Some serious skin reactions that have been attributed to Modafinil use include Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Toxic Epidermal Necolysis (TEN), and Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS).
In one pediatric ADHD trial, one participant presented symptoms that were diagnosed as Stevens-Johnson syndrome. The doctor later recanted their disagnosis, but since that time Modafinil has not been approved for use in children for any purpose.
If any of the more serious effects occur, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. One of the hallmarks of Sun Pharma Modalert is that it is much safer than other amphetamine-based stimulants, but prudence is always the best course of action.
You should ideally use Modalert on an infrequent basis and cycle it to allow your receptors to reset and prevent tolerance build-up.

Yeh it is a little addictive… Like coffee… Not so much to worry… It is amazing heather…. It really improves cognition.. In india modalert 200 10 tab costs 160 rupees.. 3 or 4 dollars..

Modalert is a generic form of Modafinil. While it should be the same, not all Modalert that is sold online is legit and there may be fake products that contain a lower concentration of active ingredients or higher concentrations of impurities than what would be considered pharmaceutical grade.

Sun Modalert is available from India only. In my experience it is almost impossible to receive packagges to south africa. They ship to the UK no problem but when I was in south africa i tried several pharmacies and all packages got stopped.

hey i got adrafinil from powder city. it didn’t work for me. i took 9 capsules in a day weighing at 300mg each.
