Noopept is one of the most popular nootropic supplement these days and it is rapidly growing its name recognition.
Noopept is highly regarded for its neuroprotective properties and for improving cognitive ability on several different metrics.
Noopept was initially invented in Russia and is most widely distributed and prescribed in Europe, but after significant growing demand, it is now available in North America as well.
Noopept reviews point to the fact that this compound is much stronger than the typical nootropic.
It is important that you understand how Noopept works so that you can take it in a responsible and effective way.

- Supports memory, focus & mood
- Boosts mental alertness & energy
- Increases BDNF & promotes brain health

Noopept is closely related to Aniracetam and Piracetam, though anecdotal reports suggest that it is up to 1000x more powerful than these substances in the same dosages.
This has to do with how the Noopept peptide is absorbed and metabolized by the body.
Also, Noopept shows a much greater affinity for certain receptors in the brain than other racetams such as Piracetam and Aniracetam.
As a result, you can take a very small dose of noopept and still see the same impressive changes to your concentration level, learning ability, memory, and sensory perception.
Some Noopept reviews falsely claim that this compound is actually one of the more expensive nootropics that is available for sale today. Because of Noopept’s higher concentration level, it may seem more expensive than its competitors in the Racetam family.
For example, 10 grams of Noopept sells for approximately the same price as 500 grams of Piracetam.
This is certainly a stark difference, but you should also note that the recommended dosage of Noopept powder is about 1/100th of pure Piracetam powder. When compared at a cost per suggested dose, Noopept is actually about 50% cheaper than using Piracetam for cognitive enhancement.
You can also save quite a bit of money by purchasing cheap Noopept in bulk and then capping your own pills at home.

- 1000x more potent than Piracetam
- Supports memory, focus and mood
- Boosts mental alertness and energy
Noopept User Reviews
Below you will find 95 user reviews and experience logs describing the effects and side effects of taking Noopept.
These reviews demonstrate that there is significant variability in the way that Noopept makes people feel.
Some report greater mental clarity, energy, improved mood, increased verbal fluency and enhanced memory. Others say that they do not experience any significant changes when taking this nootropic.
A number of users report that the effects of Noopept can begin to wear off with continued use. However, there is research that suggests it may be more effective with long-term use.
Some users feel that it causes negative changes to their mood and can make it harder to focus or be productive. Side effects are sometimes the result of taking high dosages.
Another common observation in user reviews suggests that this nootropic drug is more effective when taken sublingually than orally.
Sublingual administration involves placing the powder under your tongue where it gets absorbed directly through the mucosal membrane into the bloodflow. Lower doses are used if administering sublingually.
Another method of administration reported by some users is to prepare the powder into a nasal spray solution.
Based on the information presented in the reviews below, everyone reacts differently to this nootropic agent. Your results may vary from those shared below.

…Yeah, nothing changed. I’ve tried up to 30mg orally and still nothing. I bought noopept in capsule form, so kind of hard to dose it sublingually. The only thing I know for sure noopept does to me is cause pressure/blockage of my right ear. As soon as I stop taking noopept it goes away, so I know that it is causing it for some reason.” – creztor [1]
Noopept is the only one that I’ve consistently used even though I’ve tried most of the racetams. The only racetam that I truly like is phenylpiracetam and I use that as needed for days in which I have to get a lot done. For either of those a good choline source is preferred and I use Alpha-GPC.” – TrapandRelease [1]
Although I don’t yet have a mg scale, my effective dose is probably around 1mg, sublingually. By going to ~3-5mg, I have experienced bad mood, memory hole moments, and inability to focus. Back when I first started, I took high doses because I thought my 10mg scoop was 1mg. I went emotionally numb and felt like I was in a dreamy state. It made it difficult to function.
So, doses are the key to this stuff. More is not more, and less is not less. You need to find the proper amount for yourself and then stick with it.” – benf101 [1]
So everyone is different and some are more or less responsive to it, positive or otherwise, whether it’s psychological intolerance to the new mental state or neurological:
Basically the only thing any specific nootropic does is offset some neurochemical system in some direction by some amount. Whether or not this specific offset is beneficial to your specific neurochemistry depends on your baseline state. For most people, they’re wired such that noopept’s changes make a chemical environment more favorable to positive thoughts or brian function. For others it may make it worse – only way to know (since we don’t know much about these interactions) is to try. Try a different one, if noop doesnt work well, hopefully it’s more synergistic with you!” – m00k0w [1]
After using this product (my first nootropic), I think I have a better understanding of what nootropics are (at least Noopept and perhaps similar products like the various racetams). Obviously, it doesn’t automatically lift your IQ, but it does seem to help your mind focus it’s energy into analyzing information in a more continuous fashion. Much like reving an engine into higher RPMS, you will get more horsepower out of the engine, but you will also generate more heat and friction. I experienced this at first, my mind was thinking more dynamically, and while I received the expected cognitive gains, I also felt a few other emotions and delve into some introspection that was somewhat unpleasant.
I do have a slightly higher level of stress, but the stress doesn’t have the same effect on me as it used too. I feel a slight level of tension when I am sitting still, this might be a placebo, or it could be that uneasiness that children and younger adults feel when being forced to stay still. Where I was once comfortable with lethargy at night, I now feel the need to stay active in some way. This is nice, but it also makes it difficult to relax, and I’m considering perhaps trying aniracetam in small doses, because it is also known to reduce anxiety….
tl;dr Noopept gets two thumbs up, will racetam again!…” – excitedparrot [2]
So – as a conclusion I’m really happy that noopept seems to really do something for me, although I’m a little disappointed about two things:
1. this pretty cool energy-effect seems to last only for about 1,5 hours
2. I can’t turn this energy into focus, because it is so stimulating…” – hoverboard01 [3]
Now I like to take 15 mg orally in morning and another 15 in the afternoon. Increased motivation, mood, reduced anxiety.” – TrOuBLeDbOyXD [3]
I’ve noticed primarily that my cognition shifts a bit after taking it – Ideas come to me quicker, and I feel like I’m able to come up with more creative ways to approach any type cognition, be it solving math problems, or creating conversation. The trade-off though, is that I feel like my ideas are less refined and sometimes downright silly.
…When I’m on Noopept, I find that I’m less passive and instead more willing (though not always) to just talk about whatever comes to my head with no apparent goal (like a point to make, or a punchline to get to). I’ll see something interesting and I’ll just start talking. Once in a while, I have to cut myself off halfway through the sentence because my brain realizes that what I’m about to say is a bit silly or pointless….
About two weeks into consistent dosing, I noticed a bit of an attention problem on one particular night, at a busy location. There was a lot of visual and social stimuli happening and I found myself sometimes forgetting what I was doing previously, as in I was not able to “multi-task” well. My short term memory was pretty poor and I kept forgetting what I wanted to do every time something new came up to distract me.
One very apparent thing I’ve noticed is that it appears to affect my mindfulness meditation in that concentrating on my breath is far more difficult if I’ve dosed that day.” – [5]
At high enough doses, you get irritable and your recall feels like it plummets (though objectively it seems like it stays pretty solid). I get vivid dreams pretty frequently on noopept, but no increase in lucid dreams. I take about 15-20mg once a day with food, and did not notice much change when I spent two weeks dosing a second time later in the day.
Overall, it’s only nootropic that I’ve felt real results from. I’ve given week-long regiments to friends, some of whom who continue to take it even today and say it help with math, and some of whom have decided not to continue due to issues with irritability and short term memory loss. I’d give it a 8/10 (9/10 with rice), would recommend” – bibliophagist [5]
I do not dose consistently for more than two to three months in a row to prevent TrkB down regulation. I tell myself this because of studies I’ve seen, but in practice I had a period where I was dosing regularly for four months and came to a realization that I was struggling to adapt to new situations/information more, like I wasn’t as sharp. After going off noopept for a few months I got back to normal. Easily could have been the circumstances/environment coming and going, but with anecdotes we never really know. So now I keep it on a long cycle or just use it intermittently, depending on life circumstances.” – d-_-_-b [5]
Accute effects seem to be (at least for me) mildly anxiolytic with a slight increase in concentration. These effects seem to become more pronounced after regular administration over the course of a few weeks, along with an increase in motivation to intensely research whatever interests me. Over this same time frame there seems to be a decrease in libido, which is part of why I don’t persist in taking this for extended periods of time. Learning and solving problems (for me programming) just seems so much more interesting after a while. If I do put my focus on sex at that point it is fabulous though, just difficult for me to pry myself away from research long enough to initiate such things.
These effects are from doses ranging from 10-30mg per day. It is worthy to note that dosing above this seems to have much more occurence of side effects including irritability, brain fog, distractability, and automatic recall difficulties.
To further elaborate on the last one, when experimenting with >100mg there were a few occasions where I could not for the life of me recall something that should be a no-brainer. One such occasion it took almost a full minute and a lot of second guessing to remember which side of the road I was supposed to drive on. Nothing of this magnitude has happened before or since without similar doses of noopept, so that’s why I believe it to be related.
In terms of effective routes of administration, for me nasal works best, followed by sublingual, then oral. Lacking fondness for insufflation, I usually stick to sublingual most of the time. Nasal spray seems like it would work well, but noopept has been said to quickly hydrolyze in water, so I haven’t tried it (though plan to soon).
One final interesting note involves noopept and alcohol. On multiple occasions I have used a large dose (~100mg oral) of noopept to abort the spins and regain relative coherence after overindulging. This effect seems to be very consistent and quick, usually 10-20 minutes. This is certainly not something I make a habit of (exessive drinking, nor large doses of noopept), but over the course of a about 4 years or so it has happened a few times so I tested noopept in this regard and it has worked every time.” – phaxius [5]
Over the past three weeks. The effects of noopept have been inconsistent but cumulative and observable. Some days the effects are stronger than others. I feel as if I am much more in control of my executive functions and less likely to be on auto-pilot. The effects are cumulative. The initial euphoria still comes back occasionally but again inconsistent.
Cumulative effects include: 1. Improved empathetic abilities and social skills. 2. Extremely witty (Reduced anxiety?). 3. Greater confidence. 4. Clear Headed. 5. Changing my lifestyle for the better. 6. Easily break negative thought patterns. 7. Improved sense of smell. 8. Improved vision, easier to see the bigger picture. 9. Non-existent stress levels. 10. An extreme level of emotional control. 11. Much more efficient thinking. 12. Improved motor skills and dexterity. 13. Chess.com rating increase from (1600-1800) to my all time high of (2236). 14. I become irritable easily but my enhanced empathic skills seems to offset it. 15. Improved spatial awareness
To summarize, the closest substance to NZT-48. The people in my life are nothing short of shocked. In mbti terms, my personality changed from an INTP in a manic depressive state to a healthy ENTP. Best way to describe it.. I feel the way I should feel.
I have recently been observing (past few days) that the effects of noopept have become much more consistent since I have added four natural substances that also produce observable beneficial effects for me in order of effectiveness: 1. Sage Tea 2. Cocoa 3. Paul Stammets Lions Mane 4.Coffee. The reviews on noopept seem to be all over the place. When it comes to noopept I believe it really comes down to the state of your mind and health. If you’re highly stressed you are less likely to be receptive to its effects. Stress can come come from many different sources that you may or may not be aware of. Noopept is so subtle and builds momentum. The biochemical effects of stress can over power the effects of any nootropic.” – stoicjoker [6]
…I was taking 5-10 mg doses once or twice a day for several weeks. Not sure on the exact details, just took it when I needed it and that was a few years ago.” – AltusVultur [6]
Sometimes I experience emotional flatness while taking noopept but I actually enjoy this effect because feels like im getting a rest from my extreme emotions. ” – ihasinterweb [6]
Over this process, I have noticed an accumulating sense of High-ness resulting from consistent Noopept use. Initially, I felt speed of thought increased upon other increases including visual perception, spacial awareness, self-control and motor control, ability to focus and control thoughts, breadth of thoughts and ability to think on task, and organization of learning and memory. These are just a few, but I also gained significant relaxation towards anxiety as well, and felt at ease towards life situations I pressed on before using Noopept. I have felt my brain adapt to these gains and the changes in ability have become the normal over the 150 days.
I now have a new level of living that I am occupying. I can notice this whenever the thought is focused on. I am comfortable and in bliss with where I am, and I know it is an advancement from where I was before Noopept. My brain has adjusted to its increased abilities and I am aware that I have made these gains…” – SpaceBound91 [7]
…I have been noticing short term memory issues over the past few days. Thats when I started taking noopept again. I’ve had to make lists of what I wanna do when they come to mind just to ensure I remember.” – SuicideChrist [8]
Per the accounts of many here, I opted to administer my first dose of noopept sublingually. I started with 10mg (measured on a high quality milligram scale, please get one if you plan on experimenting with nootropics!). I anxiously sat at my desk, but after two hours had passed I was confident that nothing meaningful was happening. I was bummed out again, but optimistic considering the low starting dose. I was tempted to redose at a higher level, but decided to call it a day and give myself 48 hours before taking it again (in case there was any choline depletion going on – I wasn’t in a rush anyway).
I went through the same exercise with 25mg two days later and had a similar “non-experience”. So, again, two days later, I bumped up the dose to 40mg. This time, however, I responded. The effects of noopept at 40mg (sublingually) were subtle but readily apparent. There was a subtle psychostimulatory effect, orders of magnitude below modafinil, but enough to stimulate focused production. Unlike modafinil, however, this stimulation was accompanied by anxiolytic undertones and I felt myself working through tasks very calmly. The most notable effect was on my ability to recall words and form sentences more efficiently and fluidly – in both oral and written contexts.” – NooTrition [9]
Never had any withdrawal issues from it. Had some pretty major gains, as evidenced by career growth, in that time….
The biggest improvements I noticed came in the form of self-confidence, the ability to acquire/assimilate new information (learning new programming languages became a lot easier), and my memory (in general).
Even now that I have stopped taking Noopept I get comments all the time on how annoyingly impressive my memory is (being able to remember and recall tons of stuff that most forget about).
As for downsides from it, the only thing significant I’ve noticed from it so far has been a slight exacerbation of minor OCD-like symptoms (checking my door is locked multiple time when I leave in the morning, etc).” – chrico031 [10]
So I find that at the beginning, I feel very weird. Colors are more vivid, music sounds better, but at the same time I get some very mild flu like nausea. It’s very subtle but it makes me feel “a little” sick. Is their any way I can eliminate this feeling, or is this “weird” feeling supposed to be noopept? Also I feel slight dissociation/derealization, and feel warm head thumping sensations randomly..” – gbatemper123 [12]
When not on noopept or when stopping a cycle I don’t feel less capable than normal and don’t experience any withdrawals. Tolerance build is slow and I’m not even certain it occurs. That being said the actual benefits aren’t particularly intense. I’m slightly more alert(slightly), a bit better at remembering things, and feel a bit more clear-headed. Caffeine has a similar or slightly higher degree of procognitive effects for me, with more focus on fluid intelligence than memory consolidation though.” – Anonymous [12]
What dazzles me beyond explanation and the most, is the fact about the dosing : I don’t comprehend how come when I take tiny dosages I’m actually able to feel it and it works wonderfully whereas if taking 10mg+ dosages it does close to nothing (mostly it makes me calm and zombie, which although I enjoy, Its quite useless ), I know many people get side effects when taking big dosages, I can’t say I feel identified with the brain fog thingy either, because I think I’ve pretty much had it most of my life. (and as such Noopept has really improved it)….” – jrambo94 [13]
…That is not a placebo. I got the same exact effect — like crazy. Short term-memory suffers and my mind goes on tangents, but it also recalls things that were once buried.” – lifehole9 [14]
How Does Noopept Work?
Noopept is effective as a nootropic supplement because it improves your brain function and short-term focus in all of the most important ways simultaneously.
Taking Noopept has been associated with improved learning and memory formation, increased energy and concentration, better information processing, better health of brain cells (including faster regrowth and slower rate of brain cells dying), and increased communication between the left and right hemisphere of your brain.
If you are looking for that extra edge in your job or studies, Noopept can help you get ahead in a safe and reliable manner.

- Focus longer, clear brain fog & feel more motivated
- Boost energy, alertnes & memory
- Contains 12 safe and natural nootropic ingredients
Effects on Learning
Noopept interacts with certain neurotransmitters in the brain that are known to boost brain power when it comes to learning and memory. This is one of the reasons for which noopept is most sought-after. According to research and reviews, Noopept improves performance in all three areas of memory including formation, retrieval and restoration.
When taking Noopept, you may find it easier to recall new concepts learned as well as make associations with different concepts on several levels at once.
If you often find yourself forgetting new information very shortly after hearing it for the first time, this supplement can boost levels of the Acetylcholine neurochemical which transmits signals between your different neurons.
This results in better synapse plasticity which means your brain can form more connections and also improve reasoning and problem solving skills.
Noopept and Brain Health:
One of the key features of Noopept is its neuroprotective properties. As a powerful antioxidant, Noopept helps to relieve oxidative stress and apoptosis on the brain cells.
Noopept may even be able to reverse the trend of brain cell damage seen in elderly patients or in individuals with certain cognitive disorders.
This effect may not be noticeable in the short term, but taking it for long-term use can substantially improve your brain health.
Noopept also results in increased levels of the proteins Nerve Growth Factor and Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor. Both of these proteins are integral to neuroplasticity and play a role in how well your brain can learn and adapt to new information.
Think of these two proteins as the lifeblood for your neurons and brain cells. With higher levels of these proteins, your brain cells will be kept in better health. That means better memory retention, better processing, better concentration, improved spatial reasoning, alertness, and even improved vision.
Furthermore, because noopept is regarded as highly safe at recommended dosages, you can take it for prolonged periods to get full benefits and keep your brain as healthy as possible.
Noopept and Communication
Noopept is also believed to improve communication between the left and right hemispheres of the brain. This can result in better verbal communication as well and improved ease and comfort level in social settings. The functions of the left and right brain are highly specialized and it is fairly typical for most individuals to be more dominant with one hemisphere than the other.
Noopept supplement stacks can help integrate these functions, thereby improving synthesis of various memories and abstract ideas. Noopept can also reduce the sensation of mental fatigue (sometimes described as mental work load), thereby making it easier to conduct cognitive tasks that require a combination of creativity as well as processing power.
As you can see, noopept poses a number of different benefits for boosting brain ability which is why this drug is so often considered the best nootropic.
