Most people turn to Noopept because they are hoping to increase their brainpower and experience cognitive enhancement.
Certainly, a number of users and studies have shown that this can be very effective at increasing memory and learning abilities.
Speed of memory recall may also be improved.
Different people will experience these effects in different ways. Some may find them to be subtle improvements, such as being able to hold conversations longer and with much less effort (and then remember every detail later).
Others may see some significant improvements when taking Noopept powder and are subsequently able to remember almost everything. The same goes for enhanced learning capacity.
Mental energy is also improved. This can be compared to lifting a type of brain fog. Everything will become more clear and require less thought when supplementing with Noopept. Attention span is improved along with greater concentration and focus.
In this regard many users also are able to see significant improvements in their levels of stress and anxiety. You may feel that using Noopept powder can increase your productivity, motivation and drive.
The supplement is also important for supporting overall brain health. Noopept is actually considered a neuroprotectant, meaning that it has the ability to help protect the neurons in the brain from damage.
Much as an anti-oxidant is able to rid the body (or brain) of toxins and poisons, so can Noopept. Stress caused by oxidation is reduced, and many researchers also think that damage from excessive alcohol consumption may also be reduced.
Overall brain communication is also improved. The development of connections and growth of new synapses that connect the left and right hemispheres of the brain are greatly facilitated while taking Noopept. This allows for some interesting and unique integrations between functions and abilities normally associated with particular side of the brain.
It is also this integration process which many researchers have postulated as the main reason for long-term memory improvement as well as the anti-anxiety benefits promoted with this supplement.

- 1000x more potent than Piracetam
- Supports memory, focus and mood
- Boosts mental alertness and energy
How Noopept Works?
Noopept is absorbed by the body from within the GI tract where it then circulates to the brain and crosses the blood-brain barrier with ease.
Since the late 1980s, researchers have suggested that some nootropics have the ability of passing through the blood brain barrier. [4] This capability facilitates the delivery of drugs immediately to the brain, promoting faster responses to those drugs and its components.
The development of drugs that can pass through the blood brain barrier has been a major challenge in pharmaceutical development for decades. Blood vessels feeding the brain are lined by a substance that essentially controls what can be absorbed from those blood vessels into nerve tissues of the brain and spinal cord. This “screen” often prevents the immediate delivery of medications to nerve centers in the brain.
The majority of medications today cannot cross through the blood brain barrier, including sleep aids, antidepressants, and antipsychotics.
A drug like Noopept that can pass through the blood-brain barrier offers faster delivery and responses of neural tissues to drug components.
The substance is capable of reaching maximum concentration within about 15 to 20 minutes making it one of the fastest acting nootropic supplements available.
Noopept (which is a peptide chemical compound) then travels to specific Glutamate receptor sites within the brain. It binds with these sites and helps to inhibit the breakdown of Glutamate which is one of the most powerful neurotransmitters relative to cognitive function.
Noopept also stimulates these receptors to be more sensitive to Glutamate so that they are activated more readily. The Glutamatergic system is believed to be vitally important in memory formation, learning, and other cognitive processes that we typically associated with increased intelligence.
Another interesting way in which Noopept works is by helping to increase the amount of oxygen within the brain. This main be one of the reasons why many users report a feeling of clarity, even sometimes from among the first moments of taking this supplement.
Glucose metabolism in the brain is also enhanced. Glucose (sugar) is the main source of energy in the brain and when you improve its metabolism you make it more available for the brain to tap into. This is another possible explanation for the increased brain energy, mental clarity, focus, and concentration that occurs after taking Noopept.
Research into Treatment of Dementia
Several nootropic drugs have been explored, studied, and used to improve cognitive function for those suffering brain injury or various forms of dementia.
Recent research into certain types of dementia has suggested a defective blood brain barrier may contribute to “leaking” or passage of beta amyloid chemicals into the brain. [5]
Clusters of beta-amyloid proteins that build up between nerve cells in the brain cause plaque. According to the Alzheimer’s Organization, key indications of possible Alzheimer’s may be noted with increased levels of these buildups of plaque caused by increased beta-amyloids and tau in the brain.
Noopept is generally considered a neuroprotective dipeptide. In animal studies (mice), Noopept has been explored for its neuroprotective potential in cognitive- related neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s.
One 2007 animal study reported that after 21 days, Noopept restored spatial memory and improved immune responses, which may prove beneficial in reducing neurotoxic damage caused by dementia processes. The peptide may prove useful in improving cognitive ability and those struggling with neurodegenerative disease processes. [6]
Is Noopept a Stimulant?
Noopept does not qualify under the definition of a stimulant, but it does have stimulating effects. In order for a drug to be classified as a stimulant, its primary mechanism of action must be to increase physiological or neurological activity in the body.
Noopept is not a stimulant drug because its primary effect is not to increase nervous system activity. Its primary function is to modulate neurotransmission at glutamate and acetylcholine receptors on brain cells.
It does cause secondary effects related to stimulants, such as increased alertness, arousal, focus, energy levels, mood, and motor activity. One of the ways it does this is by boosting blood flow to the brain as well as oxygen and glucose uptake.

- Focus longer, clear brain fog & feel more motivated
- Boost energy, alertnes & memory
- Contains 12 safe and natural nootropic ingredients
Noopept Dosage:
How much Noopept powder should you take and what is the best way to use it? The proper way to dose Noopept is to start low and increase over time only as needed. This means you should begin with as little as 5 mg two or three times a day.
Some people will ultimately increase to 40 mg of Noopept powder per day, but it is common to take between 10 – 30 mg per day. Under no circumstances should this dose ever exceed 20 mg three times a day or you may overstimulate glutamate receptors.
The reason for spreading these administrations is to help build up or maintain an effective level of Noopept within the system since it has a very short half-life. You can mix your nootropic powders into a glass of water or with Noopept take it sublingually by placing it under your tongue.
Noopept Stacks with Other Nootropics:
Under certain conditions, Noopept may be combined or stacked with other Nootropics. Although this strategy is not recommended for beginners, this could be something you wish to try in the future in order to enhance already obtained benefits.
Typical Noopept stacks will include a choline source such as Alpha GPC or Citicoline.
Some people will combine Noopept with nootropics known to offer very different cognitive benefits so that they experience a wider array of nootropic effects.
For example, you may want to use Noopept with a nootropic aimed at reducing anxiety or at increasing creative thought. You may decide to take Noopept with Piracetam to potentiate its effects.
There are any number of Noopept stacks out there that you can experiment with once you have some understanding of how this supplement works independently.
How to Prevent Noopept Side Effects
There are a number of factors that can influence whether and to what extend side effects will occur with Noopept. Some of the most significant factors include: dosage, other supplements, duration of use, source, and time taken.
Most Noopept side effects are more likely to occur at higher doses, particularly those associated with visual disturbances. Higher doses are associated with a greater number and severity of side effect.
Megadoses are likely to cause more significant changes in neurophysiology and neurotransmission. Consumption of large amounts of substances that affect neurochemistry is going to cause more pronounced effects, both desired and undesired.
Users who take higher doses of Noopept, in the range of 30mg/day, are more likely to experience unwanted side effects. At dosages greater than 60mg/day, side effects may become even more pronounced.
Conversely, those users who take standard therapeutic doses, in the range of 10-20mg/day or less, are unlikely to experience any significant side effects.
Other supplements and drugs can interact with Noopept in unexpected ways. Because this smart drug is not well researched, and its mechanisms are not fully understood, it is hard to predict how it will interact with other supplements.
For this reason, it is important to be aware that combinations with other supplements may increase the likelihood of some side effects.
It is thought that Noopept is partially metabolised in the liver by the CYP3A4 isoenzymes. Substances that influences the function of this isoenzyme is likely to influence its potency. For example, drugs that inhibit this enzyme may increase the effects.
Some side effects, particularly those related to sleep and arousal, are more likely to occur when taking Noopept later in the day.
If you find that it makes you restless or unable to relax, or if you have trouble sleeping when taking Noopept, try using it early in the morning.
If you find that Noopept slows you down and makes you drowsy, you may wish to experiment with taking it in the evening and see if it improves the quality of your sleep.
It is also important to consider using choline with Noopept. It is thought that Noopept depletes choline levels, leading to a possible deficiency, which may explain some side effects.
However, too much choline also carries its own possibility of side effects. It may take some time and experimentation to find optimal levels of both choline and Noopept to get the best results for you.
How long you continue to use this nootropic agent may also affect which side effects you experience. Some users find that some side effects diminish with continued use, while extended use may increase some side effects.
If you experience negative effects when first using Noopept, be aware that you may need to adjust the dose. If side effects are pronounced, it may be helpful to decrease your dose for a time or temporarily cycle off of it.
Certain side effects may only become noticeable after extended use. This may be a sign of tolerance forming or it may be related to other factors like diet, supplements used, or individual neurochemistry.
In these situations, it may be beneficial to discontinue Noopept for a few months to give yourself a break.
Where you acquire your Noopept can play a big role in which side effects you experience. Contaminated or impure nootropic products acquired from a low-quality vendor is a major risk.
It is even possible to get a counterfeit product or to get Noopept that contains chemicals that could produce an allergic reaction. All high-quality vendors will conduct lab testing to ensure this is not the case.
Because users cannot generally confirm the purity and authenticity of the product they are buying, it is critical to buy Noopept from reliable and ethical vendors. To do otherwise means an increased risk of unwanted effects, and can even damage your health.

For beginners using nootropics, it is best to always use low doses. The top 3 nootropics I recommend are noopept, oxiracetam, and phenylpiracetam.
How long should a person keep taking it at 5mg thrice a day?
My top 3 nootropics: Aniracetam (for creative right brain functions), Phenylpiracetam (for mostly logical left brain functions) & Noopept (for balanced brain functions)
Separately or stacked together?
Anyone that ever mentions left/right brain as being related to logic/creativity are not, ever, experts at brains or chemisty.

I had skull fracture to my left frontal that is where I had bleeding. This was a year ago. 12 hour mecially induced coma and walk up and could walk and speak. My problems seem to be coming up now a year later. I’ve taken 3 doses of noopept. Along with acla and men’s sport from gnc. Have you need people recover more taking noopept?
¿es buena idea mezclar noopept con pastillas de cafeína de 200 mg?
No es un idea mala, pero trata una taza de cafe o una pastilla media.
I purchased Noopept for my son who is currently on 36 to 18 mg of Concerta. When he goes up to 36mg he is angry and flat. I was hoping to go down to 18mg and add Noopept to help. Can they be taken together and how should Noopept be spread through the day at 10mg – capsule? I also have him taking magnesium, vitamin D and zinc as well as a multi vitamin
Hi Maryann,
There is very limited research into the effects of Noopept on children. We can’t provide medical advice on this site, so I would recommend that you speak to your son’s doctor to determine whether this is an appropriate combination before giving it to your son. You may need to bring your doctor research on Noopept as he or she may not be familiar with this compound.
There are a lot of noopept brands in the market. Which should I trust? I’m really afraid of purchasing fake noopept pills. Also I am outside U.S. and some companies do not offer the shipping service to other places.
Hey Joseph,
Thanks for your question! The most important thing when looking for a Nootropic supplier is to make sure they have a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) from a 3rd party lab that is batch-verified. The COA will tell you that the product is what it says it is and doesn’t contain any fillers or unwanted ingredients.
While many companies do have COAs, the important thing is that they are from the actual batch that you are ordering from. A lot of nootropic vendors will only test one or two batches of product a year, but you need to find someone who tests every single batch of product to ensure it is legit. Make sure the COA is from a recent date and says the actual batch number of the product on it.
We recommend Absorb Health and Nootrico – two companies that both provide this kind of testing. I hope that helps!
Post to maryann Cornelio…My son is also on concerta…looking for a solution too…
Very effective – I would recommend everyone try this if you’re looking for a nootropic to help focus, motivation, and brain fog for studying. Noticeable improvements.
Bom dia !
Vcs sabem informar se tem algum medicamento no Brasil que tem a mesma composição ou faz o mesmo efeito do noopept?

My partner and daughter want and need to detox from Noopept.
How do you recommend they do it?
He cannot sleep, has frequent panic attacks, and hasn’t left the house for 15 months.
Her personality has flipped. She’s now suspicious, bitter, and at times seems to hallucinate, being hyper-focused on negative memories and faulty assumptions. They are both concerned about their memories.
He took Noopept for 3 years without balancing it with choline, She’s taken it for 4 months, doesn’t know her personality has flipped and more than likely never knew about needing to calm the agitation with choline.
Thank you for a reply.
Hey KJ,
Thanks for your comments. I would recommend speaking to your doctor in regards to your concerns.
Noopept has a very short elimination half-life, so its not the type of substance that one typically needs to detox from. There hasn’t been any research into noopept withdrawal symptoms, though some users do report depression and decreased mental clarity when they stop using it after taking high doses for long periods of time.
You might want to read some other user experiences on Reddit to get advice on how other individuals have dealt with cycling off Noopept: https://www.reddit.com/r/Nootropics/comments/2gxhx4
I hope that helps!

Great substance, brain fog brain fog/headaches can be thwarted with a choline source. Works great as a study aid and makes my fluidity with speaking is much better!
Hi lads
Are the effects of it temporary or they improve your brain as a whole?
For example, you say to take twice a day. The removal of the brain fog + improved focus (and other benefits) will stand just for an hour or so after taking it? Or it will generally improve your cognition, memory etc?
Thanks

Hi,i have read Noopept iss bad for the Libido..it this right?
Hey Andreas,
Thanks for your question. THere’s no specific research that I am aware of regarding how Noopept affects libido, so the only information to rely on is anecdotal evidence. User reviews posted online suggest that some experience a decrease in libido while others experience an increase. The effects seem extremely variable with regards to sex drive and performance.
I used it in the past and was surprised how good such a “herb” acts. It was a mood stabilizing very pleasant effect. Maybe on the first view a bit like a small doze of benzos but not with the unpleasant side effects like forgetfulness and tiredness . I read a scientific article about herbs and scientific evidences and it was one of a very few for which very strong and hard evidences that they work definitely do exist.
