Nootrobox is a novel nootropic supplement brand, based in San Francisco, USA.
Their flagship product, RISE, contains a blend of caffeine, l-theanine and bacopa monnieri to promote focus and enhance mental performance.
It is available in three sizes – a 7-pill Dabble Pack, 30-pill Workhorse or 70-pill Powerhouse bottle – and customers can save 10% by opting in to the monthly subscription service.
What makes Nootrobox different is their approach to brain supplementation from a “Silicon Valley mindset.” This is apparent in their open sourcing of ingredients and a focus on product engineering as paramount over marketing.

The promise of nootropics has a strong allure. The value proposition of enhanced mental cognition is clearly attractive in an ever evolving and interconnected society, where mental acuity is increasingly more valuable both economically and socially.
With physical supplements like protein shakes and different amino acid powders ubiquitous, it’s natural to wonder why mental supplements haven’t reached that same mainstream acceptance and popularity.
I asked these questions myself and quickly dove deep into the science of nootropics. There’s a lot of information out there, and it’s overwhelming. Hyperbolic celebrity endorsements and products promising to be the real-life version of the NZT pill from Limitless abound, it’s no wonder that the nootropics marketplace is still considered ‘raw.’
But I’m very optimistic about the future. Resources like Nootriment are providing a valuable platform to collate the best research, educate the curious, and weed out the cruft. Different companies and brands with passionate teams and products are spreading the word.
However, even then there’s still dozens of promising research chemicals and compounds and even more questions around the legality, safety, and the best sources to acquire these compounds.
With Nootrobox, we come from a Silicon Valley aesthetic and we look at the nootropics space from a first-principles perspective.
That means we pored through the original peer-reviewed, journal clinical studies. That means we looked at compounds that were not only effective in the lab, but also bioavailable through oral intake in practice.
That means we looked at the active dosages and not just the substance itself. That means we found, talked, and discussed the intricacies of sourcing and the synthesis of the raw ingredients with the largest raw ingredient farmers, manufacturers, and distributors.
That means we jetset across America to meet and kick the tires of the best pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturers in the country and audit each and every one of them on their FDA mandated cGMP (current good manufacturing practices) procedures. That means we approached nootropics from an engineering perspective, not a sales and marketing one.
The reason why we approached nootropics in this way is by nature and training; we’re skeptics at Nootrobox. I’m not big multi-vitamin person; I’m not big on diet fads. I come from the old school of eating healthily, exercising every day, and getting a solid night’s sleep.
Going through Stanford’s top-ranked computer science program and working as leaders at elite companies like Google, the Nootrobox leadership team and I ground our decisions on data: what works and what’s effective. If we’re putting these substances into our own bodies, they better be safe and they better actually work.
Our company is based on three pillars:
I. Data and science: Our products are simple, with actual dosages and actual potency shown to be effective in actual peer-reviewed clinicals. We’re less concerned about putting 17 different chemicals that all can possibly be helpful.
As the complexity of interaction of ingredients goes up by the power of 2 (N^2 relation), we focus on really distilling what works and perfecting it.
II. Transparency: No proprietary ingredients or secret formulas. You know exactly what you’re taking into your body. We work directly with the best nutraceutical manufacturers in the USA with full FDA cGMP certifications to create the best products possible. No middle-men, no additional mark ups.
III. Commonplace: We don’t think this is just some niche thing. We want to make products that millions of people take each day, and help people have a more productive day because of it. We’re going to be the community builders to make that happen by being at the forefront of thought leadership. Get involved with our Instagram and Twitter followings to get the latest dose of food for thought and inspiration.
Our flagship product is RISE – a once-a-day nootropic. It’s a stack of high potency bacopa monnieri, and a 2:1 ratio blend of L-theanine and caffeine in a vegetarian capsule. That’s it. It’s simple, premium quality, and it works.
We crafted this stack specifically to balance the long-term memory benefits of habitual bacopa monnieri supplementation with the short-term focus and energy kick of the 2:1 blend of caffeine and theanine. It’s a great starter stack in a convenient form factor.
And because we’re an e-commerce, direct-to-consumer company, we cut out all the middlemen and can offer timely and direct customer service. RISE is the first product of many in our roadmap, and we’re excited to unveil them in due time on Nootriment. From the Nootrobox family to the Nootriment community, hello!
