If you are interested in potentially improving your results from using the nootropic Piracetam, consider stacking it with Oxiracetam – a more robust Racetam with reportedly greater intelligence boosting effects.
Stacking racetams to potentiate the effects of each other is a common practice among nootropic users.
Piracetam is the parent of the racetam family and is found in many nootropic users’ basic stack.
Oxiracetam is more potent than Piracetam and is considered to have a greater benefit for memory and concentration. It is thought to work solely on the so-called cognitive neurotransmitters without affecting Norepinephrine, Serotonin, or Dopamine chemicals like some other nootropics.
Using an Oxiracetam Piracetam Stack may enable you to focus more intently and tap into enhanced brainpower.

- Heightens focus, alertness & perception
- Promotes analytical thinking & memory
- Boosts energy & reduces mental fatigue

Related Topics
Discovered in 1964 by a Romanian chemist in Belgium, Piracetam has a massive body of research studies to its name.
It has been studied in both rodents and humans and has demonstrated cognitive benefits which include improved learning ability, increased memory formation, and improved focus and concentration.
Piracetam is thought to be a vasodilator and to influence the AMPA receptor sites. Its hypothesized main mechanism of action is increasing activity of Acetylcholine. This important neurotransmitter is instrumental in both short- and long-term memory formation and recall.
In some countries, such as the United Kingdom and Australia, Piracetam is available by prescription only, though in the United States it is unscheduled and unregulated and available without a prescription.
As the parent compound of the Racetam family, Piracetam has been used for many years in various countries around the world as either an over the counter or prescription drug. However in the US, the FDA has not approved Piracetam as a drug to prevent or treat any conditions. It also does not meet the qualifications of a dietary supplement and cannot be labeled or sold as one.
It is legal to buy, own, and use Piracetam in the US though. However due to FDA regulations surrounding the sales and labeling of unregulated compounds such as Piracetam, there are not many vendors within the US that still sell it and other Racetams.
Some online specialized nootropic stores based in the US stock Racetams, however the number of these stores is limited. If they can’t get what they want from domestic stores then many users will instead import their nootropics from countries where the sale of racetams is legal and regulated.
Oxiracetam
Oxiracetam is more potent than Piracetam, meaning it requires smaller doses to gain the expected results. Oxiracetam is unique among the racetams because of its purely cognitive action.
It is a psycho-stimulant and creates a subtle energy boosting effect without the usual discomforts you might associate with amphetamine use. Because of this slight stimulant effect, some users find it best not to take this racetam at any point after lunch, lest it disrupt their sleep cycle.
When used alone, Oxiracetam users report that it enhances memory and learning abilities, and allows them to maintain a strong sense of concentration.
This racetam is particularly known for enhancing the user’s logical thinking abilities, making it an excellent choice for writing long papers or dissertations, or when organizing work projects requiring intense focus, rationality, and accurate judgment. Some users find that it increases their level of drive and their ability to absorb large amounts of information and to recognize patterns and associations.
The same as Piracetam, Oxiracetam is an unscheduled, unregulated compound that has not been approved by the FDA as a drug to prevent or treat any conditions. The same sales restrictions apply to Oxiracetam, and it is very difficult to find from vendors within the US. Specialized online nootropic stores are your best bet, and there are still some US based online stores that carry Oxiracetam.

- Supports memory recall & learning
- Boosts focus, visual perception & attention
Combining Oxiracetam and Piracetam in Your Stack
What can you expect when stacking these two racetams together? Taking these nootropics in combination allows them to optimize each other’s effects.
Whenever you stack compounds from the Racetam category, the results are usually multiplied as opposed to being purely additive.
In other words, taking the two in combination produces greater proportionate benefits than using each independently. It is important to be aware of this mutual potentiation, as many users find they require lower doses of each when taking them in tandem.
Oxiracetam’s effect on logical thinking can become quite profound. A general consensus is that Piracetam works as a vasodilator which further potentiates the focus, motivation and rational thinking enhancements of Oxiracetam.
Many users report this is their favorite stack for workdays or during times when productive activity is a must.

- Focus longer, clear brain fog & feel more motivated
- Boost energy, alertnes & memory
- Contains 12 safe and natural nootropic ingredients
Stack Dosages
It is recommended that you experiment individually with each Racetam you are interested in using before combining them in a stack together. It helps to know beforehand if each racetam is able to work with your individual body and brain chemistry to produce the desired effect.
Some people experience great effect with one racetam, but no effect at all with another. Through experimentation, you will become familiar with the individual effects of both of these racetams and you will become aware of the appropriate dose which works with your brain chemistry.
It is also necessary to take them separately to determine if you have any negative effects to either before combining them and then not knowing which compound or the combination is causing the side effects.
Then, when you begin to stack them, you will start at doses below your normal dose because of the potentiation effect they have on each other. These initial doses have been recommended by various sources for an Oxiracetam Piracetam stack:
- 1,600 mg Piracetam
- 400 mg Oxiracetam
If you need to increase your dose, do so slowly by increasing Piracetam by 200mg, allowing one week before increasing dosage again. Do not exceed 2,500 mg of Piracetam at one time when combining with Oxiracetam. If headache is experienced due to increased Acetylcholine activity, we recommend adding a good source of Choline to this stack. Taking 300mg of Alpha-GPC would be a good starting dosage.
You should note that most racetams do not produce an immediate effect in most users. The effects accumulate over time and usually are manifest in full at some point between 3-6 weeks of regular use. Some users find themselves decreasing their dosage once the accumulated effect is in play.
Piracetam Oxiracetam Stack Conclusion
Stacking Oxiracetam and Piracetam together may produce a potent effect for the user. Doses should start low and increase slowly, if needed. Racetams can build tolerance, so it is recommended you cycle their use regularly, for example 2 months on/1 month off followed by 1 month on/2 months off, etc.
Other racetam or nootropic combinations can be used to cycle back and forth and allow the brain to maintain sensitivity to these compounds. This stack can provide the user with optimal focus, learning ability, and memory capabilities while also creating a subtle mental stimulant-type effect. The Oxiracetam Piracetam stack is a favorite among users with good reason.

This was a good article to read. I just have a quick question for you. At the moment I’m taking piracetam , and Aniracetam for about 1 week now. Haven’t really notice a difference. I was thinking of adding oxiracetam to my stack. What dosage would be good start out with? This will be my first time taking oxiracetam.
Should I get off PIr/ Ani first then try alone oxiracetam? What dosage would be good to start out with and how many hours apart should I take them? if I”m just taking oxiracetam.
Please let me know when you have time.
Thank you.
Hi Louie,
The best course of action would definitely be to try Oxiracetam on its own first. Doses between 750 – 1500 mg are typical. When using it with Piracetam and Aniracetam, a common ratio is to take 4:1:1 which would mean 1,600 mg Piracetam, 400 mg Aniracetam and 400 mg Oxiracetam.
Dosages may be increased up to 3,200 mg Piracetam, 800 mg Aniracetam and 800 mg Oxiracetam based on personal sensitivity, but it is best to start with a smaller dosage and use titration to determine the proper dosing. I hope that helps!
Thank you very much for replying back to me. This starting point will help me out tonight. I just received my oxiractam and plan on taking it since I have a big exam in Nov I have to take.
I will try oxiracetam for about a week and see how that goes. Will start with 3 dosages at 250mg morning/afternoon/night time study. Then i will bring in my other nootropics. Aniracetam/ Piracetam . I will start the dosage like you said above. But split them them up into 3 dosage and see if that works. Every 2 weeks I will try to increase the dosage by 200mg each other.
Do you think that’s a good way to increase or should I just increase one by one and see how that goes?
Thanks again for taking the time on answering my questions. I know you get a lot of email so I do thank you.
One other thing I forgot to ask you mention “1,600 mg Piracetam, 400 mg Aniracetam and 400 mg Oxiracetam” now is that one dosage a day or splitting that into 2 or 3 dosage?
Can I stack uridine piracetam and oxiracetam?
I know is important to take GPC CDP and choline to prevent headaches
