Pausinystalia yohimbe extract is a supplement taken for sexual health, energy and fat loss. It is also used in alternative medicine as an herbal remedy for some medical conditions.
Yohimbe is extracted from the bark of the Pausinystalia yohimbe tree, which is a tall evergreen species found in western Africa. This tree may also be referred to by other names, including Corynanthe yohimbe.

Traditionally, Pausinystalia Yohimbe was prepared and consumed as a tea. It has also been used in topical cream formulations or in liquid tinctures. However, most yohimbe supplements sold today are in pill capsule or tablet form.

In a 1977 German double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of yohimbine HCL, patients were given an oral dosage of 30 mg per day, taken 3 times a day. 7% of patients in this trial said they experience mild adverse effects, but no serious side effects were recorded.

Only a doctor who is familiar with your health status and needs can help you determine a safe dosage of this supplement. The dosages listed below are based on those used in published research trials.
Alleviation of anxiety and fear – 10 mg of Pausinystalia yohimbe no more than once each week.
Improvement of exercise performance – Up to 20 mg of Pausinystalia yohimbe twice daily.
Improvement of libido and orgasm – Up to 50 mg daily in divided doses.

Treatment of orthostatic hypotension – Up to 5.4 mg of Pausinystalia yohimbe each day.

Buying Pausinystalia Yohimbe Supplements
When deciding which brand of supplement to buy, it is important to select products that contain standardized extracts of Pausinystalia Yohimbe.
Standadrized products will provide a verified dosage of active yohimbine alkaloids, instead of measuring their dosage in terms of grams of yohimbe bark extract.
For example, Yohimbe Plus contains 300 mg of standardized yohimbe extract, yielding 2% alkaloids. This works out to an effective dosage of 6 mg of yohimbine per serving.
Studies have found that low-quality yohimbe supplements can contain anywhere from 1.3 to 23.1 mg of yohimbine per serving. Choosing a Pausinystalia Yohimbe product that does not provide a standardized dosage can increase the risk of side effects.
