For example, product labels in the UK are not allowed to mention any of the potential health benefits of the supplement. Most consumers turn to US sources to learn about the positive effects of the product.
The main benefit that resveratrol claims to offer is anti-aging properties. By increasing the level of nitric oxide in the body, resveratrol can improve blood flow and reduce the risks of heart attacks and strokes which typically happen during old age.
There is also a link between resveratrol and anti-cancer properties as an anti-oxidant.
Some scientists claim that resveratrol may be able to increase the quantity of white blood cells in the blood and thus increase the body’s immune system for fighting disease. It may also increase the effectiveness of existing medication for long term illnesses such as blood related illnesses, HIV and other auto-immune disorders. However, there have not yet been any long-term studies to directly confirm this.

It’s meant to combine the Greek word “Nous” (which means understanding) with Nutriment which is defined as “something that nourishes or promotes growth, provides energy, repairs body tissues, and maintains life.”
