The verdict form just about every TruBrain review is clear – this proprietary nootropic stack product is legitimate and effective.
TruBrain is a brand of nootropic supplements and “Think Drinks: formulated by UCLA-trained neuroscientists. According to the manufacturers, this product is designed to “help you overcome mental blocks, improve verbal fluency, and boost your mental endurance.”
Driven by Piracetam, this brain supplement blends cognitive enhancers, nootropic nutrients, and neurochemical modulators to boost overall cognitive function.
All of these individual components have proven track records with the nootropic community and their effectiveness is not in debate.
The question for users is, does this proprietary stack deliver results that are worth the high subscription price, as opposed to purchasing components individually in the desired doses?
In this review of TruBrain, we’ll look at the ingredients, side effects, and alternatives to this brain booster.

The main ingredient found in TruBrain is Piracetam. Piracetam on its own is a well-established nootropic supplement. It boosts metabolism in the brain, facilitating cerebral circulation, neurotransmission and signaling, and fluidity in cell membranes.
Piracetam has profound impact on learning, memory, and sensory sensitivity, while adding good neuro-protective benefits for the long term.
Acetyl L-Carnitine: ALCAR is a proven anti-oxidant which also powerfully boosts cellular energy. This translates into a sense of mental and physical energy, as well as fast-moving thoughts and easy access to memories.
CDP Choline: This form of choline (also known as Citicoline) supports brain cell health and is the pre-cursor to phosphatidylcholine and acetylcholine, the key neurochemicals related to memory function, reasoning skills, learning ability, and attention span.
DHA: This Omega 3 fatty acid is used to improve cell health and reduce inflammation in the brain. Normally found in fish, DHA is a vital component of skin health with powerful neuro-protective and anti-aging properties.
Magnesium: This essential mineral regulates excitatory responses in the brain and can have a relaxing effect. Magnesium deficiencies are related to dehydration and over-exercise.
TruBrain also contains Pramiracetam for creativity, Theanine for relaxing effects, and Tyrosine to stimulate dopamine.
All of these ingredients are included in pre-packaged day/night packs which are not labeled as to content. According to the manufacturer, taking a steady regimen of these pills every day will increase overall brain activity and balance mood.
User TruBrain Reviews
User reviews of TruBrain are largely favorable. Many people report great results for mental alertness and motivation to complete tasks. Positive attitude and confidence are regularly cited. One fun effect of regular TruBrain usage is exceptionally vivid dream life.
One complaint that some users voice regards the total number of pills that must be consumed everyday. During the “loading phase” of a TruBrain regimen, users must take 7 pills in the morning and 6 pills at night.
As pills are not labeled for contents, everything must be taken together, every time, regardless of unique conditions or needs on any given day. The convenience of not having to calculate dosages is somewhat offset by the inability to modify dosages.
The main concern for most users is price. This is an enormous complaint in user TruBrain reviews, with good reason. A one month supply of TruBrain runs $125. This package, with a set of pills for morning and night, is intended to last for just 20 days (the instructions imply that pills should only be taken on workdays, not on weekends or rest days).
For comparison’s sake, if you were to individually buy Piracetam, TruBrain’s main active ingredient at 2.4 grams per day, you could get 2000 grams per month for the same price. That’s a whopping 8 months’ supply at the same dosage.
For most users, those numbers just don’t add up. It makes far more economical sense to selectively purchase the individual ingredients in TruBrain.
TruBrain Side Effects
TruBrain is a quality product, and while most TruBrain reviews praise its overall effects, many users do note some significant side effects from the pill packs. A common thread is grogginess upon waking.
Ironically, TruBrain does seem to cause some brain fog in the early morning despite being designed for mental alertness and productivity. The effect is similar to what many people feel before their first cup of coffee.
TruBrain is often taken by people who are interested in various other kinds of nootropic supplementation. It has been known to show some negative interaction with other supplements.
This is most notable with the over-use of choline supplements. Choline supplementation is one of the most common – and valuable – forms of nootropic enhancement.
However, taking TruBrain in combination with a popular and inexpensive choline supplement like CDP Choline can cause significant stomach upset.
This effect can last for the bulk of the active period of the supplement in a given day, thus negating many of the positive energy and productivity that TruBrain is designed for. So, users are locked into taking TruBrain and nothing else.
Finally, TruBrain seems to have a strong negative interaction with alcohol. Users report that the intoxicating effects of alcohol can be multiplied while taking TruBrain. If the two are mixed, drunkenness can be so intense that it prevents normal function and can even be dangerous.
Of course, mixing alcohol and any brain supplement is not recommended and will, at best, lower the efficacy of the supplement. But on TruBrain’s recommended and costly daily schedule, no drinking will be possible at all without this question mark of safety.
When you purchase ingredients like Piracetam and choline individually, not only do you save money, but you can endlessly modify dosage to suit any given day’s activities.
TruBrain Price
TruBrain company founder Chris Thompson has recently acknowledged in a public forum on Reddit that users can save a significant amount of money by purchasing ingredients individually and making their own stacks.
The convenience factor will make many people curious to simply purchase TruBrain as a ready-made stack – until they see the price tag. At $125 plus tax and shipping for 20 days worth of pills, TruBrain is simply not affordable for most people.
While passionate and committed to promoting cognitive health, TruBrain’s team is a for-profit venture trying to maximize revenue.
Once you subscribe to TruBrain monthly, you will be locked into their exact formula at a very high price. All bodies are different, and some people may have greater sensitivity or tolerance to individual components of nootropic stacks.
For example, Magnesium, which is one of TruBrain’s core ingredients, can cause drowsiness in some people and is used as a sleep aid. However for others, too much magnesium can cause the exact opposite effect – debilitating insomnia.
It often takes patient experimentation to find the right dosage for you. But if you’ve already invested $125 in TruBrain, you won’t have that option. Pills are not labeled for content and dosages are non-negotiable.
This kind of guessing game with dosage amounts and price tags makes an effective nootropic regimen difficult to achieve. In this case, it would probably be more effective to add a sleep-enhancing nootropic like Picamilon or Phenibut into your stack to take in the p.m.
These compounds target GABA levels and promote relaxation when you need it. The point is, multi-stacks like TruBrain give you no flexibility. However, for some users this is a worthwhile trade-off in favor of convenience and ease of use.
In review, we can all agree that TruBrain is a quality product. But this is more a function of the power of its individual ingredients than the pricey proprietary stacks. Nootropic fans who are curious to try its brain boosting benefits are advised to spend a few extra minutes building their own stack out of comparable ingredients.
Savings of up to 8 times the high price tag of a monthly TruBrain subscription, plus the flexibility of designing the best dosage, are substantial enough reasons to purchase individually. Just about every TruBrain review online concurs.

or maybe look at their F rating on the BBB.
No customer service, total scam
I take a lot of medications. Are there any reports of negative interactions with HPB meds and pain killers? If so, please let me in on counter indications.
trubrain people are making as much money as they can before FDA shuts them down. Piracetam is only legal of sold for “research” or “not for human consumption.
and they are scamming people

already an F on the BBB
DO NOT START THE TRIAL! IT’S A BAIT AND SWITCH SCAM. They trial is very deceptive in that it makes you think that it’s a one time purchase, but you will automatically be enrolled in their subscription plan without any clear warning.
They then make their customer service difficult to reach for cancellation, and your account information to login will not work.
BE CAREFUL
VERY SHADY way of selling their products.
You can’t just buy but have to subscribe !
You can’t unsubscribe by yourself and have to send them an email to do so.
When I asked a refund on the subscription I didn’t ask they told me 2 things :
> Learn to read
> this product is made for you so we can’t take it back
What is bullshit. It only means they are a marketing company not making their product.
And about the effect of their product I found out it worked well for a week then since no more focusing effect I am expecting from such a product.
SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE!!!
If the product were worth the money, they woulnd’t have to deceive and trick into autorenewal subscriptions. Customer service is terrible, no answer to my phone calls all day and no way of leaving a voicemail. I had to email AND fill out a form onine to cancel my subscription that is suppose to be billed in two days. Coincidently, the cancelation process also takes two days. Reguardless, they have lost a customer! PS, the product is subpar, might as well get a coffee and save some money too.
please discontinue this product, TruBrain
