Waklert is a generic form of the compound Armodafinil. It is produced by Sun Pharma, a pharmaceutical company based in India.
In most countries, Armodafinil is a prescription medication that is considered to have the benefits of a powerful stimulant without the risk of dangerous side effects.
This drug features an active ingredient called Armodafinil, which is a eugeroic, or wakefulness promoting compound.
Normal uses of Waklert include treating obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome, shift work disorder, and narcolepsy. It helps people who have extreme difficulty in staying awake or who experience unusually high amounts of fatigue during the day.
Waklert is also commonly used off-label as a cognitive enhancer or smart drug, but a large variety of people looking for a mental boost to help them with their course load or work commitments.
Armodafinil is a modified version of Modafinil (sold under the original brand name Provigil, and as the generic Modalert). It is considered to be as much as 2x as strong as Modafinil, meaning that you need a much smaller dosage in order to be equally as effective.
Both Waklert and Modafinil are used today as cognitive enhancement products and they are considered to be two of the strongest smart drugs available on the market.

Armodafinil is not an entirely new invention, in fact it is simply the latest drug in a series of related compounds that stretches back to the 1970s. In 1974, scientists at the French pharmaceutical company Lafon Laboratories developed a group of benzhydryl sulfinyl compounds that included the compound Adrafinil.
During testing to determine how Adrafinil works in the body, Modafinil was discovered. When it is ingested, Adrafinil is transported to the liver, where it is broken down into its component parts. It has been determined that the primary active compound in Adrafinil is Modafinil.
Both Adrafinil and Modafinil are eugeroics, or wakefulness promoting compounds. They have stimulant-like effects, but are not in fact related to traditional amphetamine based stimulants in either their composition or their mechanism of action.
Both Adrafinil and Modafinil were first tested for use in humans for treating the sleep disorder narcolepsy. Adrafinil was approved for this use in France in 1986. Modafinil was later approved for narcolepsy treatment in France in 1994, and in the United States in 1998.
When it was possible to synthesize Modafinil on its own directly, the need for Adrafinil declined, and eventually production stopped. Today it is once again made by a number of other manufacturers.
In 2001, Lafon Laboratories was bought by Cephalon Inc, an American pharmaceutical company. Cephalon to this day still produces the original brand name version of Modafinil, Provigil.
A few years before the exclusivity patents on Provigil were due to expire, scientists at Cephalon began research on developing a new version of the compound to help them get new patents and maintain their market share.
This research led to the development of Armodafinil. Modafinil is made up of two mirror image copies of the same molecular structure known as enantiomers. There are R- and S-enantiomers present in Modafinil in equal proportions, which makes it a racemic compound.
It has been determined that the R-enantiomer of Modafinil is the more pharmacologically active, stable, and longer-acting isomer. Therefore to make Armodafinil, scientists simply isolated the R-enantiomer alone – hence the name Armodafinil, from R-Modafinil.
Cephalon was acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical Industries in 2011. Acting as a subsidiary of Teva, Cephalon still makes Provigil and the brand name version of Armodafinil, Nuvigil.
In 2016, the exclusivity patents on Nuvigil expired, and companies were able to make generic version of Armodafinil. Waklert, made by Sun Pharma, is one of these generic brands.
Benefits Of Waklert
The primary use of this drug is as a wakefulness enhancer in clinical settings.
In other words, it will help to keep you awake, alert, and functioning despite sleep deprivation and other irregularities in sleep patterns.
People suffering from conditions like obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome, shift work sleep disorder, narcolepsy and daytime fatigue related to other medical conditions are often prescribed to this product. It is successful at reducing the excessive daytime sleepiness experienced with many of these conditions.
It is an intense, yet clean wakefulness-promoting effect that is totally unlike any traditional stimulant (coffee, amphetamines).
The feeling is more of a natural sense of heightened alertness and arousal, frequently described as clear-headed energy.
Waklert is also known to have a wide range of brain function optimizing effects that can be helpful in everyday life. This includes greatly improved ability to concentrate and focus.
Many users also notice improved reasoning skills and abilities to create mental connections, even an enhanced feeling of creativity and eloquence.
There is also the benefit of improved mental fluidity, which is almost equivalent to entering a ‘flow’-like state. Many people report an enhanced mood and feelings of being more outgoing and extroverted (particularly effective in cases of social anxiety).
Most reviews of Waklert or Armodafinil say that this nootropic drug gives them heightened confidence and drive.
A number of studies show this drug is effective in therapeutic treatments of ADHD in adults. It appears to be especially effective in those who have already built up a tolerance for other ADHD medications.
Waklert may be helpful in treating certain symptoms of cerebral palsy including improving gait and coordination (spasticity).
The supplement was even studied as a remedy for jet lag, although the FDA declined approval.
It has also been observed to act as an appetite suppressant and some users have reported that it helps them lose weight and burn fat. It will allow for more intense physical workouts and may positively impact athletic performance across the board.

- Increases energy, wakefulness and motivation
- Boosts mental performance and focus
- Supports memory and cognition
How To Use Waklert
Waklert has quite a long half-life and in most cases you will only need one dosage per day to experience the benefits all day long.
A standard dosage is a 150 mg pill taken early in the morning. It may be taken with or without food.
Your specific condition or reason for use will also determine exactly how much and when this medication should be taken. For example, most people take their dosage first thing in the morning after they wake up.
However, those using Waklert for shift work sleep disorder would normally want to consider taking their dosage about an hour before starting a nighttime work shift.
Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or use for a longer time than directed unless instructed to do so by your prescribing physician.
Waklert Side Effects
While this supplement is considered to be very potent, it is also generally well-tolerated in adults and fairly safe when used as appropriate dosages. There are some common mild side effects that have been recorded from pooled studies and user reviews, including:
- headache
- dizziness
- nausea
- anxiety
- diarrhea
- insomnia
- depression
- dry mouth
- indigestion
- fatigue
- heart palpitations
There is always a possibility of having some side effects when you begin taking a new medication as your body adjusts to the drug. This adjustment period can last a few weeks, and experiencing mild side effects during this time is normal. If you side effects last longer, then speak with your doctor about possibly trying a lower dosage.
Insomnia is a common complaint that is not typically a true adverse reaction to the drug, but rather an issue that arises from poor dosage timing. The half-life of Waklert is fairly long, and effects are still felt many hours after it is taken. It is recommended that you take your dosages in the morning to help avoid sleep disturbances at night.
Very rare, but more serious side effects, can include allergic reactions such as hives, swelling of the lips, face, or tongue, and difficulty breathing. Related to this is a group of skin and mucous membrane conditions that could develop, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), and drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS).
There is strong evidence supporting a theory that certain individuals have a genetic predisposition to developing these conditions when they take certain medications. The most common medications that cause an issue in these people are antibiotics, anesthetics, cough and cold medications, and NSAIDS; as well, Provigil and Nuvigil can cause theses reactions.
The symptoms of these conditions vary, but often include a spreading, blistering rash. In the case of anything serious immediately discontinue using Waklert and seek medical attention.
How to Buy Waklert
In the United States, Armodafinil (the active compound in Waklert) is categorized as a Schedule IV prescription drug by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As well, in most other countries around the world, Armodafinil requires a prescription to buy.
In some places, like the UK and Australia, it is legal to import prescription drugs provided you have proper documentation of your prescription. This allows you to use reputable online pharmacies to possibly get a better price for your prescription than at a local pharmacy.
Make sure that you buy Armodafinil online from a reliable provider and are only getting authentic Sun Pharma Waklert pills. Examine reviews of both the company and the product sold carefully before making a decision.
Because Waklert is available as an over-the-counter drug in India, there are many online pharmacies that will sell it legally without proof of a prescription. The issue lies in the fact that once it is imported, the laws of the country it was imported to apply, making it a prescription drug again in many places.
These online pharmacies will sell it to you without a prescription (even if you live in a country where it is a prescription medication), but you should be aware that there is significant risk involved in this process. The first risk is that your product may never reach you.
Customs agents can inspect your shipment and confiscate it. If you live somewhere where importation of prescription drugs is legal then you will be required to provide proof of a prescription to get your shipment. If prescription importations are not legal where you live (the United States and Canada) then the product will be confiscated, and you could face legal ramifications.
Another issue arises if you do in fact receive your shipment. Because of the high demand for Armodafinil and Modafinil, many vendors will sell products that are not manufactured in proper facilities or undergo tests for contaminants. You may have order what you thought was genuine Waklert pills, but actually receive a generic knock-off.
There is no easy way to check the purity and authenticity of your product. You would have to have pills from every batch you receive analyzed by a lab, which would be very costly.
In general, it is recommended to not purchase Armodafinil without a prescription. Instead, consider using a non-prescription alternative.
Waklert Alternatives
Because it can be difficult to get a prescription for Armodafinil for any purpose besides sleep disorders, and many people do not want to take the risk of buying without a prescription, some people will turn to using non-prescription Waklert alternatives such as Adrafinil or one of the Racetams.
One option is to purchase Adrafinil which can legally be used in the USA without a prescription and is not a regulated or scheduled compound. As described before, Adrafinil is converted into Modafinil soon after it is digested. Users report that the effects of Adrafinil are then very similar to Modafinil or Armodafinil.
Because of the conversion process it goes through in the liver, it is hypothesized that there could be a buildup of toxic liver enzymes if Adrafinil is used on a regular basis. Therefore it is recommended to only used it occasionally, as needed for times when you need an extra mental boost.
Another non-prescription Waklert alternative is one of the Racetams. This is a family of compounds that are all based off of the original nootropic, Piracetam. Piracetam has been seen to have positive effects on executive function, learning ability, and memory, through its effects on the neurotransmitter Acetylcholine.
The other common Racetams – Aniracetam, Oxiracetam, Pramiracetam, Phenylpiracetam – are all more potent derivatives of Piracetam that typically have even stronger and varied nootropic effects.
While these alternatives may be less potent than Waklert or Armodafinil in general, it may be easier for you to acquire online, and they do not require a prescription, making them ideal nootropic substitutes for many people .

Hi Nalini,
You should check with your doctor to determine how to take it. Waklert is sometimes used every day, but some users prefer to cycle it or take a couple rest days every week to avoid any risk of tolerance forming.
is it have any side effects for long term usage of wakelert 50mg
